Jokulsarlon Icebergs, Iceland
April 2013: The incoming tide of the Atlantic sweeps the icebergs onto the beach from the nearby glacier and these are always different and the tide ebbs and flows. The colour blue in the ice is the light transmitted or refracted through the ice, which flows down from the glacier and returns on the tide as blue or blue-green icebergs. As I stood in the water, my tripod would move as the water sucked away the sand from the tripod legs but I was fortunate to capture this scene.
