This piece is constructed on canvas using Free-hand Machine embroidery and paint. The tree is the focus and is produced through intense stitch. The stitching becomes looser as it moves away from the tree and it becomes embedded in paint. The tree remains intense as the focus of a journey up the hill the other elements that are passed are less memorable and thus less intense.
